Yesterday was Jeremy's interview for the doctoral program at Tennessee State University and he was accepted! He is really excited. We know that the next few years of more school is going to be difficult at times, but I am so proud of him and I know that being a principal is something he has always wanted to do.

Well the kids are having a blast with their cousin Isabel. My sister got here last night around 8:30 and Sam was so happy. He was actually driving me crazy yesterday. He kept asking yesterday "why is it taking sooo long for Isabel to get here".  Sam, Emma, and Isabel slept in the living room last night and did great. Well we are about to get ready and go to Target and Wal-Mart. My brother and his family are coming over tonight for supper so I think I am going to pick up some Whitts BBQ.  Emma has been doing pretty good at the potty training thing. She has had a few accidents but they are getting fewer every day and she is starting to tell us when she has to go. Well here are a few pictures from the last few days. Sam has started standing on his head on the couch while he watches TV. This is so strange because this is what I used to do when I was a kid.

We are having a pretty good week. Monday was pretty restful. Yesterday was a busy day. We ended up going out to our adoption agency for Chloe's last post placement visit. After the visit we were going to go to the zoo but the were calling for rain so we did not go. We came home and then I went to Curves. I came home and got Jeremy and the kids and went to the church to get the church van and then Jeremy went to the dentist. He called me about 2:00 saying that he was early for his appointment, a week early. Hie appointment was supposed to be next Tuesday. They were able to go ahead and get him in yesterday. Jeremy had several errands to run before our work night in the youth room so he just stayed in town and Sam and I came later to the church. We painted the youth room and got things cleaned up. Tonight starts our big push for the summer in youth group and we are planning on having 50 kids tonight in youth group. Well Jeremy had to get some copies made but when he gets back I am going to exercise and go to the grocery store by myself:) My sister and niece get in tomorrow so we are getting things ready for them. We have a pretty packed week so I am not sure how much I will be blogging this week. I may just try to post a few pictures the next few days.

Monday. May 25, 2009

Our restful weekend turned out to be kinda busy. Saturday we went to a graduation party and then we went to the mall to pick up a few things. Sunday after church we went to Jeremy's parents for a cook-out and then we stayed at their house for a few hours. We got home about 3:30 and we all decided to take a short nap. Well our short nap turned into a 2 1/2 hour nap. I woke up and it was a little after 6:00. The kids slept about 10 more minutes after I got up. So you can probably guess that we had a late night since none of us went to bed at our normal time. I did put the girls to bed at about 10:00 but I think Chloe was still awake at 10:45. Emma woke up a few times wanting a drink but the kids slept until 8:00. We have plans to go swimming at our friend's house this afternoon but right now it is kinda gloomy here so I am not sure if it is going to rain. The kids are pretty excited about swimming even though it is not my favorite thing in the world. I am not a fan of wearing a swimsuit:) Well, I know I have said this before but I mean it this time, I have started potty training Emma again. I have tried several times to start potty training her and she has done really good but it was just too crazy for me to keep up. Now that Jeremy is home I can work with her so much better. We are on day 3 and she is doing great. I am hoping it continues to go this smoothly. Well we have a busy week ahead of us. Tomorrow we are going out to our agency for our third post placement visit and the we are going to to the zoo while we are in Nashville. Jeremy had a dentist appointment in the afternoon to get a cavity filled and then we have a work night in our youth group room. Thursday Jeremy has an interview at Tennessee State University to get into their Doctoral of Educational Administration Degree. He is pretty nervous so please say an extra prayer for him. He will be given a topic and has to write on that topic for an hour. My sister is also coming in on Thursday so I cannot wait to see her. Well I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day. Here are my kids being silly last night.

Friday. May 22, 2009

Have you ever seen on of those caricatures of a mom being portrayed? The picture usually is extremely exaggerated and she is doing like 6 things at the same time and we laugh because that is exactly how we feel sometimes. Well yesterday morning I happen to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I laughed out loud because I looked like one of those pictures. I was trying to get ready to take Sam to the dentist and I was waiting on a phone call so I was kinda rushing around. I was in the kids bathroom holding the blow drying in one hand drying my hair. My other hand was on Sam's toothbrush brushing his teeth. I was standing in the doorway of the bathroom with legs slightly apart to keep the girls out of the bathroom and I looked down and Emma was wrapped around on leg crying and Chloe was wrapped around the other leg crying. The crazy part was that I did not even realize the craziness of the scene until I looked up and saw myself in the mirror. It was pretty funny. I was a little upset because the phone call I was waiting on never came. We are supposed to have Chloe's third post placement visit in the month of May and our social worker has not contacted us about the visit. We really want to get the visit done because then we will be done with all our requirements and make Chloe's adoption final. I called our agency yesterday morning and the director said he would contact our social worker  and she would call be back yesterday morning. She never called. I called back yesterday afternoon and just had to leave another message. We really need to get it done next week because after next week we are going to be super busy. The agency is closed today so I guess I will not be hearing from them today either. Well after the crazy morning I took Sam to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned. He did so good. I was a little worried because I took him to my dentist and last time he got his teeth cleaned it did not go so well. After the dentist we ended up just going to a local grocery store and picked up a few things. We then came home and just napped and played. I went to Curves when Jeremy got home and then we just stayed home. Tonight is graduation at the Christian school but the kids and I are not going. One girl from our youth group is graduating and this class is special to Jeremy because this graduating class was the first class he taught, so he is going to graduation. We may go out to eat tonight before graduation to celebrate Jeremy's first year teaching in public school. Well, we have a pretty restful weekend. NO big plans around here. We are going to try to enjoy it because I think this is our last free weekend until August.

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

We have had a pretty good day. It started early when the kids decided to wake up at about 6:15 this morning. I got up and got the house picked up and then got ready for my dentist appointment. Our friend came over to watch the kids and I was very thankful. Jeremy's parents are out of town this week and when I found out a few weeks ago that they could not watch the kids I asked someone but I told her the wrong day. I thought my appointment was tomorrow. I knew it was on the 20th but for some reason I thought it was a Thursday. So yesterday when I called to remind my friend she could not watch them today because she thought she was watching them tomorrow. Thankfully another friend was gracious to come and watch the kids. I got a great report from the dentist so I was happy. I am taking Sam back to the dentist tomorrow to get his teeth cleaned. I think we will also make a Wal-Mart run. We have been stuck at home the last few weeks so we may get out for a while tomorrow.

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Well my kids have been early risers the last few days. At least two of them have been waking up at 6:30 and then waking the third one up, so we have been up for almost an hour. Sam was excited again this morning when he found his four quarters under his pillow. We do not have anything planned for today. Jeremy has to go to the dentist after school today and then I am going to try to get to Curves when he gets home. His appointment is at 5:00 so I may not make to Curves. I have to go tomorrow to the dentist but just for a cleaning. Because of all the problems I had I have been going back every three months to get me gums cleaned. I should be able to start going every six months after tomorrow. So I guess this is the week for our family to visit the dentist. Sam is doing good. He slept most of the afternoon yesterday and his mouth was a little sore, but he does not seem to be hurting. Well that is about all for today. I have got to work on some laundry. Here are some more pictures from the weekend and yesterday.

Monday, May 18, 2009

We just got back from the dentist and Sam once again has one less tooth then he had this morning. We left about 8:00 this morning. My friend came and stayed with the girls and then Sam and I went on to the dentist. We had to wait about 45 minutes since they were working us in, but we were only at the dentist about 2 hours this time. I cannot remember if I wrote last time about how big his tooth was, but the this tooth was just as big as the last one. Also like the last one the tooth had three big roots. The dentist was making a big deal about the tooth having three roots so I looked it up online and I guess it is very rare for baby teeth to have three roots and most bottom molars only have two roots. By looking at the roots it is no wonder that he was hurting so bad. They also had to put in another spacer.  He did great and seems to be feeling fine. He did, however, wet on himself while he was getting the tooth pulled. I guess he was too relaxed to tell them he had to go to the bathroom. He came waddling out of the dentist office. We went to Wal-Mart so I could get him some different pants.
We also had a pretty good weekend. We went to a wedding Saturday. It was really nice. It was a little warm so the kids had a pretty tough time sitting still through the outside wedding. After the wedding we went to the reception and Chloe had her bubbles in her hand saying "bubbus" the whole time. After the wedding the kids and I actually came home and did not do the other stuff we had planned with the youth group. They were pretty tired so Jeremy went and I stayed home. Yesterday was church and naps in the afternoon and then we went to a Baccalaureate service at another church. So it was busy but good. We are having a bit of an issue about what to do with the puppy at night. She has been keeping us up at night whining or wanting to play. We have been pricing different options for outside fencing but our budget is a little stretched right now and those things are expensive. Anyway, here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Friday, May 15, 2009

So today was kinda a weird day. Actually this week has been kind of weird because I was a day ahead of myself all week, so I thought today was Saturday so it was strange. I have gotten really bad about not knowing what day it is and I know it is only going to get worse once Summer gets here. Anyway, I woke up this morning in Emma's bed. I have a vague memory of Sam getting in our bed so I went to Emma's bed. Sam got up and came in our room to use the bathroom but I think he was still asleep. After he went to the bathroom he stood in the door way saying, "mom what did you want? I heard you calling me." I almost told him to go back to bed and say, "yes Lord your servant is listening":) but I knew that would only confuse him more. So when I woke up this morning I had no idea what time it was because there is not a clock in Emma's room. I guess I did not think about looking at a clock because we are on pretty good schedule around here. So we went on with our morning. The kids played and then the girls started getting cranky so I put them down for their morning nap. Just like every day the kids eat lunch after the girls wake up because it is close to lunch time. So the girls woke up and I got their lunch ready. I even ate lunch because I thought it was lunch time. We all got done eating lunch and I finally looked at the clock and it was only 10:40! I could not believe! It felt like we had been up forever. So the rest of our day was off a few hours. When Jeremy got home I went to Curves and then to Wal-Mart for groceries. We were out of just about everything. The kids had to eat some corn flakes that I use for casserole topping for breakfast this morning. Well we have a busy weekend. Our friend is getting married to tomorrow so we are going to the wedding at 11. Then we are going back to the church to work on our youth group fundraiser. We bought the ingredients from Sam's Club to make pizza's and then sold them to people. So we are making the pizza's tomorrow afternoon and then delivering them. After that we are having a movie night at Frank and Jennifer's house. Well Sam is wanting to play a game so I better go. Have a great weekend.

Thursday, May 14, 2009

We have had a pretty good day. I forgot to mention yesterday that Sam is having trouble with another tooth. I was a little aggravated because when he was at the dentist a few weeks ago they knew that there was a major problem with the tooth that is hurting now. I am not sure why they did not fix that tooth when he was in there. Well they told me that he would need to come back to get the tooth fixed but the next appointment they had open was at the end of September. Well Sam started hurting Tuesday night so I called the dentist to see if they could see him sooner. The dentist is out the rest of this week but they are going to see him on Monday. They also called in a prescription for pain medicine so he can sleep at night. They are working him in on Monday so I will probably be spending most of the morning at the dentist office. Well today we stayed home until Jeremy came home and then we went to Sam's Club to get stuff for a youth fundraiser and then I took Molly to the vet. Molly got her first set of shots. She is a very sweet puppy and the people at the vet just fell in love with her. She is doing good with our family but I forgot how much work a puppy is. She has also been waking up at 5 AM wanting to play. She has been sleeping with Sam at night and it is just the sweetest thing. Well tomorrow we will be staying in again so I am hoping it is nice so we can go outside.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Well we did not do much yesterday. The kids and I stayed home. We played outside some with the dog but the kids kept getting really hot from running around. My friend and I walked yesterday afternoon and then I went to Curves. I am feeling the pain from doing that two days in a row. Today we will just be hanging around the house until we go to church tonight. The Direct TV guy is coming between 12-4 to fix our box so I guess we will just wait for him. Right now the kids are eating breakfast and I am watching The Biggest Loser that was taped last night. It was on for three hours so I am glad it was recorded so I can fast forward through most of it. Well the puppy is still a hit around here. Maggie however is not so thrilled with the new puppy. Molly wants to play with Maggie but Maggie goes crazy barking at her. Molly stays outside on a tie out most of the day but we are still trying to figure out something better so she can just run around. Molly spends most of the day whining to come back inside so that is kind of annoying. The kids are also doing pretty good. Emma has a runny nose and is congested but I think it is just allergies. Well here are a few more pictures from the weekend.

Monday, May 11, 2009

We had a pretty good weekend. Saturday evening Emma and I went back to Wal-Mart to get groceries since we ended up not getting them the first time we went because of the puppy. It was a sweet time with just myself and Emma. I have very little time alone with each of my kids so it was nice. Yesterday after church we went to Jeremy's parents for lunch. We took Molly to church with us and left her in the parsonage because we knew we would be gone most of the afternoon. After lunch Jeremy and I came home and the kids stayed all night with Gran and Papa. Jeremy and I went out last night and it felt so weird not having my arms full of something and not trying to get the kids in and out of places. I also got a good night's sleep and actually slept until about 9:30. I got up and went to Curves and the bank and then came home and got the house cleaned up. Jeremy left when I got home and went to the Christian school to eat lunch with some of the kids from youth group. He is picking the kids up from his parents after he is done. My friend and I are going to walk here in a few minutes and then I am working on getting the laundry done. Well here are a few pictures from the weekend. I have a couple from yesterday but I have not loaded them yet.

Saturday, May 09, 2009

Well I ended up getting to go to the movies last night. Janna came and stayed with the kids so I could go. It was a pretty good movie and I had fun with the youth group. We did not get back until 11:45 so we were pretty tired. It then stormed ALL night so we did not get a whole lot of sleep last night. Well the big news around here is that we got a new puppy. You can go ahead and question my sanity because I sure am. We went to town today and we ran several errands. We also had a nice lunch at Cracker Barrel and then we went to Wal-Mart for groceries. We pulled up to Wal-Mart and there were several firemen outside holding these adorable puppies. We could not resist the cute little face. The puppy is about 6 weeks old and is half beagle and half lab. We named her Molly and so far she is a really sweet puppy. I just hope my little do not drive the poor dog crazy. She will be an outside dog but we just have to figure out how to keep her in our yard. Well the girls and the puppy just woke up so I better go rescue the dog. Here are a few pictures.

Friday, May 08, 2009

We are all doing OK today. Yesterday was another day at home. Actually I will be having many days at home until Jeremy is out of school. Wednesday on Jeremy's way home his car broke down. He talked to a friend that knows about cars and it is either a $200 fix or a "cost more then the car is worth fix". Jeremy is trying to find someone with a trailer to take it to a mechanic. We do not want to pay for a tow just to find out it is not worth fixing. I am trying not to worry about it but we cannot really afford the expense of a new car. We only need one car for the summer so if the car cannot be fixed we will probably wait until school starts again to get a different car. So, it is a little overwhelming being stuck in the house and knowing that I cannot go anywhere if I wanted. Last night when Jeremy got home we went to Sam's Club to restock the teen room at church. We got a pizza at Sam's for supper and it was actually pretty good. Jeremy brought us home and then went to the church to unload all the drinks and snacks. Today is about the same as yesterday. We are staying home. I will probably clean again today. I am going to go to Curves tonight when Jeremy gets home. I have not been in a few weeks. In fact they called me Monday to make sure I was OK. Jeremy and some teens are going to see the new X-Men movie tonight. I want to see it but they are going to a late show and I don't want to ask someone to keep the kids that late. Well Jeremy's class at school has been learning about frogs and crabs in their science class at school so they have a bunch of these little critters in the class. He brought home a frog for Sam on Wednesday. The pictures below are of the kids looking at the frog.

Wednesday, May 06, 2009

Well there is not much going on here today. It is once again a rainy day so we stayed inside. The kids slept so good last night. Samuel fell asleep at 5:00 on the couch. In fact he was eating his corn dog one minute and I came back in the living room and he was fast asleep. I just let him sleep on the couch thinking he would wake up after a few hours. He got up twice to use the bathroom but then came back and went back to sleep. Actually one time he got up to go the bathroom and he was still half asleep and he went to the kitchen and started to pull his pants down. Thankfully I caught him before he went in the kitchen floor. Sam kept on sleeping and I put him in the bed at 8:00 and he slept all night. I guess his non-sleeping Sunday night and everything that happened on Monday just wiped him out. Emma went to bed at 7:00 because she did not get an afternoon nap and Chloe went to bed at 8:00. Both girls also slept all night and did not wake up until 7 this morning. The kids are now down for their afternoon nap. I made Sam lay down because of church tonight. Well I better get some things done while the kids are napping. Here are a few pictures from this morning. Sam and Emma came out of the room with Sam's hats on and wanted me to take their picture. The other picture Sam put is arms around the girls and said "Mom take a picture of me with my babies." It was so cute. You can also see the space in Sam's mouth where his tooth used to be.

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

Well I think Sam is feeling much better. After his long nap yesterday afternoon he was back to his happy self. In fact it was difficult to keep him from playing so rough. The dentist wanted him to take it easy the rest of the day but that was difficult to do. To help keep him occupied he helped me vacuum the kitchen. Last night Sam put his tooth under his pillow and he was so excited this morning to find money until his pillow. It was the sweetest thing! His eyes just lit up! It hit me last night that Sam actually lost his first tooth yesterday. I was not thinking about it being a milestone since it had to be pulled but I am sure that I will be keeping the tooth. They put the tooth in this cute little mouse container, so that it was Sam is holding in the picture below. We all finally got a good night's sleep last night. I have already decided that we are staying home today. In fact we may all stay in our pajamas. The last few days we have been in such a rush to get somewhere so today we are just going to take it easy. I need to get the laundry done. Here is some pictures of Sam from last night.

Monday, May 04, 2009

We got home a few minutes ago from the dentist. They called me at 8:00 this morning asking if I could be there by 8:30. I live twenty minutes away and Sam was still sleeping and the girls were still in the pj's and I had just gotten out of the shower so my hair was sopping wet. I some how managed to get everyone presentable and we got to the dentist at 8:35. We were all looking pretty rough, but we made it there. I think poor Sam looked the worst. He was so tired and his eyes were so swollen and puffy from crying. The dentist was amazing. I was nervous because this office likes to take the kids back without the parents so they can build that trust with the kids and I was not sure if Sam (or myself) was going to be OK with that policy. He went back without any tears, from Sam anyway, and they did  x-rays. He had three teeth right in a row that were bad. The tooth in the middle was really bad and they ended up having to pull that tooth. They put a filling in the other two so he should not be having any more pain from those teeth after a few days. I was so thankful because they ended up having a cancellation this morning during the time we were there so they were able to get the things done that they needed to help with his pain. We ended up being there for three hours but my friend came and got Emma about an hour into our wait. Emma is not as patient in situations like that so thankfully she was able to go with someone. Samuel was so brave and I cannot tell you how proud I am of him. He usually would freak out when put in that situation and he did great. I am just so thankful that I was able to find a place that was so great to my child. He is fast asleep on the couch and I hope he can get some rest. Jeremy is coming home early so I can rest too. I am actually surprised that I am typing coherent sentences (well at least I think I am.) Thanks for all your prayers!!

Well I will give a brief recap of our weekend. Friday I ended up having to take the cats to animal control. I felt terrible about it but all the shelters said they were filled and could not take on any more animals. I also forgot to mention on Friday that on top of all those things I had to get done that it was POURING down rain. I managed to get everything done but it was so exhausting. Saturday we had state competition for church. Janna came over and kept the girls and we took Sam. Our teens did so great and actually won 4 things so we are now making plans to go to the National in July. After competition we came home got the girls and went back toward Nashville to pick up the kids pictures that we had taken Easter weekend. That is a frustrating story that I am too tired to share, but we got the pictures and they turned out really cute. On the way home we stopped at Jeremy's parents to show off the pictures and we is not get home until about 8:00. We were up early for church Sunday and then went to eat at Chili's after church. We then went to see Jacob and Lynsey's new house and then we met at the church to get the teens and go to Ronald McDonald House. We were all so exhausted and we thought we would get some rest last night but that did not quite work out. Well I thought I took more pictures this weekend but I only got one of the girls in their matching dress. Emma refused to smile. Well I am going to try to rest for a few minutes. Please pray that Sam sleeps well tonight and that his mouth will feel better.

Monday, May 04, 2009

I have a quick prayer request this morning and then I will try post more this afternoon about our weekend. Last night about 9:00 Sam started crying that his tooth was hurting. Sam sometimes whines about something that hurts but it usually only lasts a few minutes. Well his crying went on for about an hour. We gave gave him Ibuprofen and I put some orajel on his tooth, but that did not help. He fell asleep about 10:15 but then woke up again at about 10:45. I found a pediatric dentist that had a doctor on call and gave them a call to see if they could help. We are afraid he may have an abscess. OK this is the part that I feel like a HORRIBLE parent. I took him to our dentist a while back and I knew that he had a couple of cavities but my dentist does not treat kids. They gave me a number to a pediatric dentist but I could never get an answer. Every time I called they I got a voice message saying they were either closed or on lunch. I know that I should of called somewhere else but I just did not get around to it. Anyway, Sam cried from 10:45 to after midnight. The Ibuprofen finally kicked in and we slept from 12:15 until 3:00. He woke up again and cried from 3:00 until about 4:30. Jeremy took him at 4:30 and slept with him on the couch so I could get a little sleep. The dentist is supposed to call this morning to get him in to see someone. Please pray for him. He is in a lot if pain and I pray that he can get some relief today. Please pray for me. I was already so exhausted from the weekend and I can barely keep my eyes open right now. I am also a complete emotional wreck. Sam does not like going to the dentist and I do not want to be crying the whole time we are there. I will update when I find out what is going on.

Friday, May 1, 2009 - May already?

Can anybody tell me where the month of April went? I cannot believe that it is already May. I know Jeremy is glad it is May. He has been counting down the days until school is out. Well I have had a quite an eventful morning. I heard the door close this morning at 7 and I was worried because Jeremy is usually gone by 6:30. I got up and it was Jeremy and he informed me that I has a surprise in the driveway. There were 4 kittens in the driveway. Unfortunately one of the kittens was dead. Some of you may remember that last year we had kittens all over the place because we had the three female cats that had kittens within a week of each other. Well we were able to catch all the kittens except three. Well one of the kittens (now they are full grown cats) ran off several months ago and have not seen it since. One of the kittens is a boy so we knew we would not have trouble with kittens with that one but the third kitten started "showing" a few months ago. Well a few weeks ago when we got back from trip the cat was no longer expecting. She had the kittens out in the woods somewhere and had not seen them. The mother cat had actually been up by the house a lot the last few days so I was not sure if the kittens were even alive. I guess because of all the rain she moved them underneath Jeremy's car last night. When he pulled out this morning the mother cat ran out from underneath the car and surprise kittens. It did not look like Jeremy ran over the one that was dead so it must of died some other way. So, I got Maggie's cage and got the kittens and I was also able to catch the momma cat. I buried the dead cat and I have been on the phone most of the morning trying somewhere to take the cats. I am already showered and dressed and I think I will take the kids for breakfast if I need to take the cats to a shelter or something. Well after I get all that taken care of I need to go to the grocery store. We also have a pretty busy weekend too. Tomorrow is our State Competition for church. Sunday is Jeremy's moms birthday so after church we are going out to eat. Sunday night we have Ronald McDonald House with the teens. Wow I am already exhausted just listing the things I need to do. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend.
