A Cowboy, Cowgirl and their puppy

Saturday, October 31, 2009

I cannot post much because we have so much going on today, but I did want to post a few pictures and give a quick update on Sam's conference. The teacher is very pleased with Sam's progress. He is excelling in every subject and is great with the other kids in the class. He actually has met almost all the benchmarks required for the whole year. I was not worried about him academically but I did want to ask about how he was doing socially. He tends to be a little withdrawn when he is around a big group of kids. She said he plays well with others and is sought after from the other kids to play with them. She said he tends to be around the kids that are exploring or trying to figure things out rather then the kids that are running around and being rough. After the conference Sam and I went to lunch. Sam wanted to go to the Pleasant View Diner. They sell this delicious Fried Oreo Sundae, so he actually said he wanted to go to "the oreo place". Last night we had our youth group party at Frank and Jennifer's house and we had so much fun. We did a scavenger hunt with teens. It was pouring down rain but they had a blast. We did not get home until after 10:30 so the kids slept until 8:30 this morning. We are about to get around and take the kids to eat and then we will start making our rounds to people we know to load the kids up on candy:) This is Chloe's first Halloween and I am guessing she is going to love tonight. What could be better then people giving her yummy things to eat? Well I will try to get pictures of the kids in their costumes tonight or tomorrow

We are having a pretty good week. Monday and Tuesday the girls and I stayed home. I was going to get out Tuesday but it was rainy all day. We were out of almost everything and I was running serious low on diapers for Chloe. I was able to dig around the closet and find some diapers so I decided to wait and go to the store on Wednesday. Well I got a call Tuesday evening and was asked to sub 4th grade on Wednesday. So the girls and I got out today and went to the store. Emma went to school with me yesterday and Chloe went to Gran and Papa's house. I was kind of nervous about teaching 4th grade but it went great. It was weird because some of the kids in the 4th grade class were the same kids that I taught in Kindergarten. It was nice to see them and see how much they have grown. It was a nice day and it really makes me want to get back into teaching. Last night we went to church for the final night of revival and then came home and got the kids to bed. As I said the girls and I went to the store this morning and I have to take Molly back to the vet when Jeremy gets home. We had her spayed last week and so I have to take her back and get the stitches removed. I was not going to take her with the girls so I will be heading back to Clarksville later. Tomorrow Sam has a half day of school for Parent/Teacher Conference so I will be meeting with his teacher soon after I pick him up. I am not worried about his progress because I know he is doing good but I still am going to meet with her. The girls and going to stay at Gran and Papa's house while I am there and then Sam and I are going to go out to lunch. Well I only took one picture this week. We were in our pj's most of the week so the camera did not come out. I did get this picture of Emma with her new favorite stuffed animal. My mom got her this elephant last summer from Build-A-Bear but she has not played with it until she found it in her closet the other day. Now she has her blanket and elephant in her arms most of the day.

We are home and trying to settle back into the routine of things. We got back Friday night and then spent the day Saturday cleaning and getting all the laundry done. We are starting Life Groups at our church so we were having our first meeting Saturday night at our house. I had to get Molly from the vet Saturday morning and then came home and cleaned like a crazy lady. Yesterday was church and then Jeremy spent the day working on some school work. The kids and I came home and rested and then headed back out for choir practice and church. We are having revival this week and I am hoping to go each night but I need to see how Sam is after he gets home from school. It was back to school for the boys today and Sam was a bear this morning trying to get him up and out the door. The girls and I have just stayed home today and relaxed a little. Well here are some pictures from yesterday.

More pictures- Water Ways

OK so I know I just posted that I would be posting these pictures tomorrow but I decided to post them while I had faster internet connection. I had so many pictures to chose from this sight at the museum but I refrained from posting them all. This was the kids favorite place at the museum.

I asked Chloe to smile and this is what she did. This is classic Chloe.

We are having a great time here in Illinois. We arrived Monday night and the kids had a blast playing with my mom's new kittens. Yesterday we went to Chicago and had an AMAZING day. The weather was beautiful. We went to Navy Pier and took a boat ride around Lake Michigan. We then ate lunch where the kids and I enjoyed a Chicago hot dog. We then went to the Chicago Children's Museum. It was so neat and it is kind of hard to explain all the activities they had for the kids. One area it was set up where the kids could make a fort out of blankets and furniture. There was a place where you could build a skyscraper out of these plastic pieces of building material. Our whole family helped build it and it was so much fun. There was a Dinosaur Expedition where they had dinosaur bones covered up and the kids could dig them up. There was so much to do but it would take forever to explain, but the kids favorite area was called Water Ways. They had a room set up with all these different things you could do with water. The kids wore these little rain coats and they had so much fun. I have so many pictures to post so I am doing a few at a time. The ones posted today are from our trip up to Illinois on Monday.

There is not much going on today but I thought I would post since it will probably be a few days before I post again. Sam was out of school yesterday. Jeremy had to to go because it was a teacher planning day. It was cold and rainy yesterday so the kids and I stayed in all day and just lounged around. We played games and Sam played with his cars and trains. After Jeremy got home Sam and I made a quick trip to the store. This morning Jeremy and Emma went to run some errands so I am trying to get a few things done around the house. Chloe is sleeping right now and I am getting the house cleaned up and packing. We are leaving on Monday to go to my parent's house in Illinois. We are staying until Friday. The kids are so excited and I made the mistake of telling Emma last week that we were going to Grandma's house. She asks me about 5 times a day if we are leaving to go to Grandma's house. This morning that question was the first thing out of her mouth. I told her two more days so now she keeps saying "Two more days". Other then Jeremy and Emma getting out I think we are staying in today. It is really cold outside today. I hope we are not skipping Fall this year. Tomorrow is Jeremy's 30th birthday so we are having lunch at his parent's house tomorrow. His trip to St. Louis was his birthday present from me so we are not doing anything else in particular for his birthday. Well here are a few pictures from this morning. Emma is sporting her new jacket and Sam just wanted me to take his picture. I will try to post some while we are in Illinois. We are going to the Children's Museum in Chicago on Tuesday or Thursday so I will try to get some of those posted. Have a great weekend!

Thursday, October 15, 2009

Well our plans got changed for yesterday. Tuesday when Sam was picked up from school we were told that his field trip to the pumpkin patch was cancelled. The pumpkin farm actually cancelled the trip because they were calling for 100% chance of rain for Wednesday. Sam was so sad and it of course made me sad. Jeremy was still feeling horrible Tuesday night and he decided that he was going to stay home Wednesday. So I decided that I was going to keep Sam home and spend the day with him. I already had a babysitter for the girls so I took the girls to a friend's house and Sam and I went on a date. We went to McDonalds to eat lunch and then he played on the playground. We then went to Pet Smart just to walk around and Sam LOVED that store. We were in there a long time looking at the fish, birds, guinea pigs, and cats. I thought that they had puppies there but they did not. After the pet store we went to Toys R Us and once again walked around. He was able to get a small toy because he got a gift certificate for his birthday from there. We then went to Target and then got the girls and came home. It was such a wonderful day with my little guy and I am glad that I decided to keep him home especially since it did not rain a drop until late last night. Today is picture day at school and Sam was so excited about it when he woke up this morning. I had to get his picture before he left this morning. Today is also his last day for a while so he is ready for a long break. Well I better get going. I need to get my house cleaned up.

We have been so busy since the last time I posted so I have a lot to cover today. Friday the girls and I went to the mall in Nashville trying to find Jeremy a Dodgers sweatshirt. It was pouring most of the afternoon and we could not find anything long sleeve that had Dodgers on it. I ended up just getting him a hoodie that was the same color blue has the Dodgers. He was wanting the sweatshirt because he left Saturday morning and headed to St. Louis for the Dodgers game. After our shopping expedition we went to Sam's school to watch his patriot program. It was very cute. Sam's class sang and he was so proud that the girls and I were there to see him. After the program we went to our friend's house so Sam could finally get a haircut. After the haircut the kids and I went home and Jeremy had a meeting a church. Saturday the kids and I got out to do some grocery shopping. Jeremy went to St. Louis and the kids got to play outside a little bit. Sam's scooter (that was ordered for his birthday) finally arrived and he got to ride it. Jeremy got back home about 2:00 Sunday morning he got a little sleep and then we were off to church. It was Friend Day at our church so we had a meal after church. We did not get home until about 2:00. The kids got a nap while Jeremy worked on his class for school and I was getting things ready for Monday. Sunday night Jeremy and I were invited to the Titans game with our friends Frank and Jennifer. So a couple girls from our youth group came over and watched the kids while we went to the game. It was really fun. The Titans played horrible but they were playing the Indianapolis Colts and they were amazing. We did not get home until 11:30. Jeremy and Sam went to school Monday and the girls and I met a few other stay at home moms at the church and let the kids play in the nursery while we talked. It was so much fun. We are going to try and do that every week. Well Jeremy was not feeling well so he decided to stay home today. It is sinus issues so he has been taking some medicine and slept most of the day. I got up this morning and took Sam to school. They only have a 4 day week this week and then Fall Break is all next week. Tomorrow I am going with Sam and his class to the Pumpkin Patch. Well that's about all for our weekend. It was super busy but we had a lot of fun.

WEdnesday. October 7, 2009

We are having a pretty good week so far. There is not a lot going on so the girls and I stayed home yesterday and we are staying in today until church time. I am trying to get the Fall/Winter clothes out and sorted so that is keeping me busy. Sam is having a good week at school. He is so excited when he comes home with homework. It would be nice if has this same enthusiasm when he is a teenager:) He is doing such a great job reading and learning all the new concepts. His new thing is to count syllables for every word he hears. It is cute but it gets a little annoying after awhile. When he gets home he and Emma sit at the table and color and draw for hours. Last night he drew a picture of himself and me (picture below). He wanted me to take a picture of him with his picture and then Emma had to do the same thing. We call Emma Little Miss Chatterbox these days. She talks constantly! She is also doing great with going in the potty. She has only had one accident the past few weeks and that was yesterday. I got in the shower and just when I got the shampoo in my hair she had to go. I tried to hurry up but she had already went in her pants. She was so upset. She is just growing up so fast. Chloe is doing good. She still is not saying much but I have determined that she chooses not to talk not that she cannot talk. She can say a lot of words but she just will not say them. We are working on her asking for a "bite" when she wants something to eat and "juice" when she wants a drink. She can say both words and knows what they mean, but she chooses to come into the kitchen and grunt at me. Well the girls are down for a morning nap so I am going to try to get somethings done. Have a great day!

Please ignore my messy table. It tends to be the dumping ground when the boys get home from school.

All is once again right with the world! OK maybe that is a wee bit dramatic, but because of the generosity of a dear friend I was able to buy a new camera today (THANK YOU, THANK YOU)! I know I am not a great photographer but I have been kinda of lost with out my camera the past few months. I got all the paperwork for my broken camera to be sent in but I was kinda of down thinking about how long it was going to take to get back. There are a lot of big events going on the next few months and I was afraid I would not have a camera. So today I went to Target and got a new camera and it is so nice. We had an amazing weekend and the kindness of our friend just topped it off. There were several people this weekend that blessed us and met a need that they did not even know that was needed. It was a weekend of great reminders that God knows what we are needing (and sometimes wanting) even when no one else in the world knows. Well I noticed that I have not posted since Wednesday, but not much has gone on around here. We did have a scare with our dog Maggie Wednesday night and I thought she was going to die. She was breathing weird and then she became very lethargic and would not move. She threw up a few times and then finally got up to go outside. She went outside and laid in the grass and would not get up. She would not eat anything and she would not walk on her own. I stayed home with her from church because I did not want her getting sick in the house and I did not want her to die while we were gone. I was up with her most of the night Wednesday and by 3:30 Thursday morning she finally ate a piece of ham and I knew she was going to be OK. By Thursday afternoon she was back to normal. Saturday the kids spent the day with Jacob and Lynsey while Jeremy and I went on a date so that was nice. Yesterday was church and then Emma and I went to a wedding shower. The girls and I got back a few minutes ago from the grocery store so I better get them down for a nap.
