Well I ended up getting to go to the movies last night. Janna came and stayed with the kids so I could go. It was a pretty good movie and I had fun with the youth group. We did not get back until 11:45 so we were pretty tired. It then stormed ALL night so we did not get a whole lot of sleep last night. Well the big news around here is that we got a new puppy. You can go ahead and question my sanity because I sure am. We went to town today and we ran several errands. We also had a nice lunch at Cracker Barrel and then we went to Wal-Mart for groceries. We pulled up to Wal-Mart and there were several firemen outside holding these adorable puppies. We could not resist the cute little face. The puppy is about 6 weeks old and is half beagle and half lab. We named her Molly and so far she is a really sweet puppy. I just hope my little do not drive the poor dog crazy. She will be an outside dog but we just have to figure out how to keep her in our yard. Well the girls and the puppy just woke up so I better go rescue the dog. Here are a few pictures.

We are all doing OK today. Yesterday was another day at home. Actually I will be having many days at home until Jeremy is out of school. Wednesday on Jeremy's way home his car broke down. He talked to a friend that knows about cars and it is either a $200 fix or a "cost more then the car is worth fix". Jeremy is trying to find someone with a trailer to take it to a mechanic. We do not want to pay for a tow just to find out it is not worth fixing. I am trying not to worry about it but we cannot really afford the expense of a new car. We only need one car for the summer so if the car cannot be fixed we will probably wait until school starts again to get a different car. So, it is a little overwhelming being stuck in the house and knowing that I cannot go anywhere if I wanted. Last night when Jeremy got home we went to Sam's Club to restock the teen room at church. We got a pizza at Sam's for supper and it was actually pretty good. Jeremy brought us home and then went to the church to unload all the drinks and snacks. Today is about the same as yesterday. We are staying home. I will probably clean again today. I am going to go to Curves tonight when Jeremy gets home. I have not been in a few weeks. In fact they called me Monday to make sure I was OK. Jeremy and some teens are going to see the new X-Men movie tonight. I want to see it but they are going to a late show and I don't want to ask someone to keep the kids that late. Well Jeremy's class at school has been learning about frogs and crabs in their science class at school so they have a bunch of these little critters in the class. He brought home a frog for Sam on Wednesday. The pictures below are of the kids looking at the frog.

Well there is not much going on here today. It is once again a rainy day so we stayed inside. The kids slept so good last night. Samuel fell asleep at 5:00 on the couch. In fact he was eating his corn dog one minute and I came back in the living room and he was fast asleep. I just let him sleep on the couch thinking he would wake up after a few hours. He got up twice to use the bathroom but then came back and went back to sleep. Actually one time he got up to go the bathroom and he was still half asleep and he went to the kitchen and started to pull his pants down. Thankfully I caught him before he went in the kitchen floor. Sam kept on sleeping and I put him in the bed at 8:00 and he slept all night. I guess his non-sleeping Sunday night and everything that happened on Monday just wiped him out. Emma went to bed at 7:00 because she did not get an afternoon nap and Chloe went to bed at 8:00. Both girls also slept all night and did not wake up until 7 this morning. The kids are now down for their afternoon nap. I made Sam lay down because of church tonight. Well I better get some things done while the kids are napping. Here are a few pictures from this morning. Sam and Emma came out of the room with Sam's hats on and wanted me to take their picture. The other picture Sam put is arms around the girls and said "Mom take a picture of me with my babies." It was so cute. You can also see the space in Sam's mouth where his tooth used to be.

Well I think Sam is feeling much better. After his long nap yesterday afternoon he was back to his happy self. In fact it was difficult to keep him from playing so rough. The dentist wanted him to take it easy the rest of the day but that was difficult to do. To help keep him occupied he helped me vacuum the kitchen. Last night Sam put his tooth under his pillow and he was so excited this morning to find money until his pillow. It was the sweetest thing! His eyes just lit up! It hit me last night that Sam actually lost his first tooth yesterday. I was not thinking about it being a milestone since it had to be pulled but I am sure that I will be keeping the tooth. They put the tooth in this cute little mouse container, so that it was Sam is holding in the picture below. We all finally got a good night's sleep last night. I have already decided that we are staying home today. In fact we may all stay in our pajamas. The last few days we have been in such a rush to get somewhere so today we are just going to take it easy. I need to get the laundry done. Here is some pictures of Sam from last night.

Monday, May 04, 2009

We got home a few minutes ago from the dentist. They called me at 8:00 this morning asking if I could be there by 8:30. I live twenty minutes away and Sam was still sleeping and the girls were still in the pj's and I had just gotten out of the shower so my hair was sopping wet. I some how managed to get everyone presentable and we got to the dentist at 8:35. We were all looking pretty rough, but we made it there. I think poor Sam looked the worst. He was so tired and his eyes were so swollen and puffy from crying. The dentist was amazing. I was nervous because this office likes to take the kids back without the parents so they can build that trust with the kids and I was not sure if Sam (or myself) was going to be OK with that policy. He went back without any tears, from Sam anyway, and they did  x-rays. He had three teeth right in a row that were bad. The tooth in the middle was really bad and they ended up having to pull that tooth. They put a filling in the other two so he should not be having any more pain from those teeth after a few days. I was so thankful because they ended up having a cancellation this morning during the time we were there so they were able to get the things done that they needed to help with his pain. We ended up being there for three hours but my friend came and got Emma about an hour into our wait. Emma is not as patient in situations like that so thankfully she was able to go with someone. Samuel was so brave and I cannot tell you how proud I am of him. He usually would freak out when put in that situation and he did great. I am just so thankful that I was able to find a place that was so great to my child. He is fast asleep on the couch and I hope he can get some rest. Jeremy is coming home early so I can rest too. I am actually surprised that I am typing coherent sentences (well at least I think I am.) Thanks for all your prayers!!

Well I will give a brief recap of our weekend. Friday I ended up having to take the cats to animal control. I felt terrible about it but all the shelters said they were filled and could not take on any more animals. I also forgot to mention on Friday that on top of all those things I had to get done that it was POURING down rain. I managed to get everything done but it was so exhausting. Saturday we had state competition for church. Janna came over and kept the girls and we took Sam. Our teens did so great and actually won 4 things so we are now making plans to go to the National in July. After competition we came home got the girls and went back toward Nashville to pick up the kids pictures that we had taken Easter weekend. That is a frustrating story that I am too tired to share, but we got the pictures and they turned out really cute. On the way home we stopped at Jeremy's parents to show off the pictures and we is not get home until about 8:00. We were up early for church Sunday and then went to eat at Chili's after church. We then went to see Jacob and Lynsey's new house and then we met at the church to get the teens and go to Ronald McDonald House. We were all so exhausted and we thought we would get some rest last night but that did not quite work out. Well I thought I took more pictures this weekend but I only got one of the girls in their matching dress. Emma refused to smile. Well I am going to try to rest for a few minutes. Please pray that Sam sleeps well tonight and that his mouth will feel better.

I have a quick prayer request this morning and then I will try post more this afternoon about our weekend. Last night about 9:00 Sam started crying that his tooth was hurting. Sam sometimes whines about something that hurts but it usually only lasts a few minutes. Well his crying went on for about an hour. We gave gave him Ibuprofen and I put some orajel on his tooth, but that did not help. He fell asleep about 10:15 but then woke up again at about 10:45. I found a pediatric dentist that had a doctor on call and gave them a call to see if they could help. We are afraid he may have an abscess. OK this is the part that I feel like a HORRIBLE parent. I took him to our dentist a while back and I knew that he had a couple of cavities but my dentist does not treat kids. They gave me a number to a pediatric dentist but I could never get an answer. Every time I called they I got a voice message saying they were either closed or on lunch. I know that I should of called somewhere else but I just did not get around to it. Anyway, Sam cried from 10:45 to after midnight. The Ibuprofen finally kicked in and we slept from 12:15 until 3:00. He woke up again and cried from 3:00 until about 4:30. Jeremy took him at 4:30 and slept with him on the couch so I could get a little sleep. The dentist is supposed to call this morning to get him in to see someone. Please pray for him. He is in a lot if pain and I pray that he can get some relief today. Please pray for me. I was already so exhausted from the weekend and I can barely keep my eyes open right now. I am also a complete emotional wreck. Sam does not like going to the dentist and I do not want to be crying the whole time we are there. I will update when I find out what is going on.

Friday, May 1, 2009 - May already?

Can anybody tell me where the month of April went? I cannot believe that it is already May. I know Jeremy is glad it is May. He has been counting down the days until school is out. Well I have had a quite an eventful morning. I heard the door close this morning at 7 and I was worried because Jeremy is usually gone by 6:30. I got up and it was Jeremy and he informed me that I has a surprise in the driveway. There were 4 kittens in the driveway. Unfortunately one of the kittens was dead. Some of you may remember that last year we had kittens all over the place because we had the three female cats that had kittens within a week of each other. Well we were able to catch all the kittens except three. Well one of the kittens (now they are full grown cats) ran off several months ago and have not seen it since. One of the kittens is a boy so we knew we would not have trouble with kittens with that one but the third kitten started "showing" a few months ago. Well a few weeks ago when we got back from trip the cat was no longer expecting. She had the kittens out in the woods somewhere and had not seen them. The mother cat had actually been up by the house a lot the last few days so I was not sure if the kittens were even alive. I guess because of all the rain she moved them underneath Jeremy's car last night. When he pulled out this morning the mother cat ran out from underneath the car and surprise kittens. It did not look like Jeremy ran over the one that was dead so it must of died some other way. So, I got Maggie's cage and got the kittens and I was also able to catch the momma cat. I buried the dead cat and I have been on the phone most of the morning trying somewhere to take the cats. I am already showered and dressed and I think I will take the kids for breakfast if I need to take the cats to a shelter or something. Well after I get all that taken care of I need to go to the grocery store. We also have a pretty busy weekend too. Tomorrow is our State Competition for church. Sunday is Jeremy's moms birthday so after church we are going out to eat. Sunday night we have Ronald McDonald House with the teens. Wow I am already exhausted just listing the things I need to do. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend.
